I’m still doing that; that thing she taught me. Big eyes wide when the picture of a sunset meadow springs into view, pinks and blues, I see in bright yellow. To look for the good in others, because that’s hard and that’s brave, and it makes you better. But also because, she told me truly believe that they ARE good, you’re not lying to yourself sweetheart, people are good, and they do good things. And finally to love the world, and even when it was just a small world surrounding us, and still is, your back garden full of spiders, dewy grass, paw prints flattened it. Brewing tea inside, waiting for sunset or a rainstorm. To love them both.
